Polygon Network Faces Consensus Finality Bug, Disrupts RPC Services
The Polygon network encountered a significant bug on September 10th, delaying consensus finality and disrupting Remote Procedure Call (RPC) services. While the blockchain continued producing blocks, multiple RPC providers and validators were forced to resync from the last finalized block.
Polygon's team confirmed the incident, attributing it to node configuration issues. Restarting affected nodes partially resolved the problem, though engineers continue collaborating with infrastructure providers to fully restore functionality. The team emphasized the bug did not impact Core chain operations.
